Chinking
Chinking differs from log home caulking in two primary ways. First, chinking typically has a slightly stiffer consistency which makes it better suited for larger bead applications. It can still be used for smaller beads but is easier to apply and tool in a larger seam than most caulking. Chinking like Log Jam has much more texture than most caulking and is often used to mimic a traditional mortar seam. Chinking can be used in both exterior and interior applications. Use of a bond breaker like backer rod is recommended behind all chinking joints.
