Caulk Guns & Equipment

Caulking guns for log homes can be used for individual caulking tubes or for bulk loading from 5 gallon pails.  For the homeowner, individual tubes or cases in 10.5 oz.  or 29 oz. tubes may be the most cost effective and easiest method.  If you are doing an entire home or are a building professional than you might want to look at a bulk loading set up.

To compare between the options (1) 5 Gallon Pail is 640 oz. and large caulk tubes are 29-30 oz.  This means that (1) 5 Gallon Pail is equal to 21-22 Tubes of 29-30oz caulk or chinking.  If you are buying a 5 Gallon Pail then you will need the following bulk loading equipment: a Bulk loading gun, follow plate and a few different sized tips are common.  If you are going to be using 4-6 cases and doing the work in a short period then the bulk loading set up will be more cost effective.  If you are going to do the job in small steps the individual tubes are a little easier to spread over a summer or two seasons.
