Spatulas and Foam Brushes are the most common items used for tooling your log home chinking and caulking products. Some other items to keep handy while working with chinking are rags and a small pail of water. A small pail that can be attached to a ladder hook or on a work belt can be very handy.
After caulk or chinking is applied to a small area it needs to be tooled to insure proper depth and adhesion to the logs above and below caulk bead. A spray bottle can be used to keep caulk moist while working and a small pail of water to rinse tools often while working will help you to keep a smooth bead throughout the area being chinked.
